About Us
A Life's Work
Clean Grain Carpentry came from our owner John Nowack's young dreams. John knew he wanted to be a carpenter since he was seven years old. When he built his first tree house, he was hooked! Since then he couldn't stay out of the wood shop. When he finished highschool he went to study at The Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. He majored in yacht interiors. After graduating he worked at Gig Harbor Boat Shop as an instructor. During this time he also built homes, custom furniture, and yachts all over the Seattle area, but Cashmere was calling. He moved back to his home town and started Clean Grain Carpentry.

We have received most of our projects through word of mouth from our delighted clients. They can tell that the job is being done carefully and the finished product has been built to last. They share this with their friends and family and we get to happily continue delivering some of the best carpentry in North Central Washington.
