Kitchen Remodeling

Kitchen remodels are some of the most popular home improvement projects out there. When people think about kitchen remodels, they often imagine new cabinets, appliances, flooring, lighting fixtures, and countertops. But what many don’t realize is that there are many ways to make a kitchen look great without spending a fortune on major upgrades.

Here are some of our tips for how to do a kitchen remodel right:

  • Start with a plan. Before starting, any remodel project, sit down and write out a list of exactly what you want done. Make sure to have a budget in mind before you begin shopping around. You should also know what kind of style you want for your space. Try finding some photos of what you like so we can get an idea of the types of finishes you are expecting. Be aware if you choose more modern style finishes and appliances your budget can quickly disappear.

  • Shop carefully. Once you have a general idea of what you want don’t buy anything without first checking with us. Appliances and finishes purchased before or during a remodel can throw off the whole project and cost thousands of extra dollars if we havn't been provided the specs

  • Keep costs low. One way to keep the cost of a kitchen remodel down is to repurpose materials whenever possible. Salvaged or repurposed materials are ones that were previously used in your property or someone elses and are still in good enough shape to be used again. Another thing you can do is to get creative with your design. Sometimes just some paint and new doors can breathe new life into what felt like a terrible kitchen.

  • Use quality materials. Quality materials are always going to last longer than cheap alternatives and we have a deep knowledge of the best materials and appliances. Investing money in high-quality finishes in the right places can save you a lot of money in the long run.

Bathroom Remodeling

Bathroom remodels are probably the second biggest investment people make in a property after the kitchen. People spend a significant amount of time in them, so it makes sense to make them comfortable and attractive.

Here are some of our tips to help create a beautiful bathroom:

  • Choose the right colors. While you may love the color blue, it isn’t necessarily the best choice for everyone. Think about the colors you associate with relaxation and comfort. Warm colors like orange and yellow are known to stimulate creativity and productivity. Cool colors like green and blue are calming and relaxing.

  • Add storage. Storage space is extremely valuable in bathrooms and is often overlooked. Adding built-in shelves could allow you to store extra towels and toiletries. Or consider adding a linen closet or extra cabinets to give yourself more space to stash hygiene items.

  • Create a spa environment. Spa-like environments are becoming increasingly popular. Install faucets, tubs, showers, and finishes that don't just fill the space but accentuate it. For example, a professionally tiled custom shower can really push a bathroom to the next level. Any upgrade beyond basic can go a long way toward creating a luxurious and rejuvenating atmosphere for you, your guests, or a future buyer who's looking for a move-in-ready space.
